Website Personas
A persona is the particular type of character that a person seems to have and that is different from their real or private character. Please select a specific persona during the review process, offering comments & critique from the perspective of the persona. Best results are usually obtained when you choose a persona you have little familiarity with as it forces you to consider that viewpoint during your role acting.
Specific Evaluation Personas
- Online Referral. A person who has landed on our site as the result of an online referral like an ad or link in a business profile (Yelp, Google Business, etc). This person has little or no knowledge of FRDM Church and is likely visiting as something piqued their interest in the referral source.
- Personal Referral. A person who has landed on our site because of a specific referral, typically after a first-time visit, attendance at an event like Serve Day, Hope Outreach , Block Party, Christmas Eve, Easter or a referral from a friend who is a member of FRDM. Subject Matter Expert (SME) Personas
The following SME’s will be helpful in evaluating design and content in specific areas.
- Spiritual. Ensuring all the content lines up and reflects our beliefs, values and practices at FRDM.
- Comms. How the site flows and provides clear pathways for the person to follow in the above personas. Some of these persona pathways will be stronger and more evident than others.
- Content. Some lorem ipsum is resident in content areas. A solid review of all content is requested. This is extremely easy to adjust.
- Imagery. Do we have the best images in each content area? Photo manipulation (shaping/cropping/tinting/masking) is pretty easy given the photo to work with. Graphics are a weakness for me.
- Section Layout. The position, size, emphasis, decoration, color of headlines, text, photos/graphics. Ideally, the entire site will generally have the same look and feel that demonstrates continuity and especially does not confuse a person when navigating from page to page.
- Presentation on mobile devices. This requires improvement at this juncture and will be compensated for before the next design review. The above items require solidification first.
- Data Collection on Forms. Are we collecting all the required data for each form to meet the needs of the data request without additional follow up to the submitter? Is the form clear and easy to understand? Do the fields have sufficient room to enter information requested?
